Meditation

Let’s talk meditation. Is your meditation game on point? I want to break it down in a different context. There are a lot of weird rules that have been floating around out there about meditation and frankly...it’s gotten pretty stressful. LOL. Let’s be clear. Meditation only needs to do one thing... help you feel good. That's it.

What meditation is NOT

Let’s start with what meditation does NOT have to look like. Cool? It does not have to be:

  • 30+ minutes long
  • Done in a quiet dark place with candles lit (although that can be nice)
  • Forced calm
  • Guided

NOPE!!!!!

What meditation IS

Now let’s review some of the benefits of meditation:

  • Improves mental clarity
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Reduces cortisol (yes, that does mean less belly fat!!!!)
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Boosts confidence
  • Increases energy (physically and mentally)

The list goes on but this is pretty compelling in making our case to raise your feel-good vibes, yes??

Time for some Livekick action. Here is a 3-minute meditation to help you release from “trigger foods”. You know... the ones that call out to you from the fridge in the middle of the night. The love affair you have with pizza. The deep calling for anything chocolate that you can never shake. Here is where you can use meditation to specifically heal yourself. It’s pretty powerful.

Go here to get the meditation. Then come back here and answer a few questions to supplement your practice. Feel free to print this blog and share the video with your friends, too!

Journal on these prompts:

  • Who/what visited you? What emotions did it stir?
  • What did it feel like as you sliced the chain?
  • What emotions did you feel after the chain was broken?

I invite you to repeat this mediation for 7-30 days. Find what feels good for you and notice when you have found freedom from the old chains.
